Continuous Improvement Specialist Job Title: Continuous Improvement SpecialistFLSA Status: Non-ExemptDepartment: KPO/OPSReports to: KPO ManagerSummary: Involved with the planning process, schedules, and implements continuous improvement activities (Kaizen events) on production floor. Trains and educates production and other ASSA ABLOY staff in lean manufacturing principles. Ensures that standard work procedures have been understood and followed and single-piece-flow methods are being maintained.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily with minimal supervision. Fully understand lean manufacturing principles. Assist and support the work flow and lean manufacturing processes for production department. Analyze actual production methods using lean manufacturing principles, benchmarks, and forms. Assist with the implementation of the single-piece-flow work-cells together with production staff to meet daily product demand with minimal staffing requirement. Involved with the design, review and implementation of the Local Area Storages and Point of Use Storages for work-cells in conjunction with WHSE Manager. Involved with the implementation and monitoring the benchmarks related to lean manufacturing. Train and educate employees in all aspects of lean manufacturing related to production. Provide support to the production staff to ensure that implemented lean principles are being understood. Assist Business Unit Managers in any way needed to ensure that implemented lean principles are being followed. Recommend machinery, hand tools, processes, and procedures that help improve product/component quality, reduce lead times, or reduce manpower requirements. Provide KPO Manager with information regarding scheduled Kaizen events, lean manufacturing training, Kaizen event results. Other duties may be assigned.
