5500 Deadlock

5500 Deadlock for sliding wood doors is a hardware set that includes the lockset, strike, and operators. The package features the 5017 Deadlock/Deadlatch with adjustable hookbolt and uses an over-sized thumbturn operator on the interior, coupled with an emergency override access location on the exterior escutcheon.

Function:

For wood framed sliding doors, the 5500 Deadlock features the 5017 Deadlock/Latch which provides the same 1000 lbs strength that the MS1847 Deadlock/Latch provides for metal stiles. The bolt throw is easily adjusted by means of a screw in the faceplate. Mounting is by through-bolts, which also secure the inside 1004 Turn Lever and outside 1016 Blank Plate escutcheon. The package incorporates the 1004 Turn Lever an oversized thumbturn operator on the interior, coupled with the 1016 Blank plate escutcheon with an emergency override access location on the exterior.

Operation:

45° rotation of 1004 Turn Lever projects or retracts bolt. Bolt is self-protecting: if door is shut while bolt is extended, it will retract, preventing damage or accidental lock-out.
